The image gained virality in early February 2026 as artists on Twitter / X used it as a redraw format to draw fan art of other characters doing the same thing.

On February 1st, 2026, Twitter / X^[1] user @D4rkDessire uploaded a screenshot showing rapper Eminem throwing a rose, and beside it an image of a man who is shocked as a rose flies to him with the caption, "it's a good reference here omg." Also, below it is an image of the Shannon Sharpe Fit Checks meme. The post received more than 27,000 reposts and 207,000 likes in one week.

Starting early February 2026, Twitter user @D4rkDessire's post was used as a redraw subject by the artists on Twitter / X to draw fan art of other characters.

For example, on February 3rd, 2026, Twitter / X^[2] user @jeweldraw_ uploaded a The Apothecary Diaries fan art version of the meme. The post received more than 11,000 reposts and 78,000 likes in five days.

On the same day, Twitter / X^[3] user @MsCheckaCheck uploaded Cosmic Princess Kaguya fan art using the image as a redraw reference. The post received more than 2,400 reposts and 13,000 likes in five days.

On February 6th, 2026, Twitter / X^[4] user @kaagtwet0103 uploaded Genshin Impact fan art, but instead of a rose, the character is throwing a doll or chibi character. The post received more than 3,100 reposts and 16,000 likes in two days.
