The lawsuit was filed in October 2024 in the Southern District of New York, listing Combs as a defendant but was later updated on December 8th to include Jay-Z.

netizens were already speculating and creating conspiracy theories since September 2024 with memes suggesting that Beyoncé knows about the rape allegation, which prompted new jokes and mockery surrounding the rumors.
For instance, on December 8th, 2024, X[5] user @zakeekinlaw posted a reaction video, writing, "Jay Z got accused of raping a 13-year-old with Diddy and now Stan Twitter is literally having a 'my favorite celebrity is the least offensive pedophile' debate."
