The clip comes from The BlueTick Show episode "THE UNTOLD STORIES OF A UK PRISON," uploaded on January 19th, 2025. The clip started going viral on TikTok and Instagram Reels in July 2026 and became the subject of memes. As a meme format, an image of something that is considered bad or "shit" is often associated with the clip of Jeff saying, "Whipping up shit in a kettle." On January 19th, 2025, The BlueTick Show YouTube^[1] channel posted an episode titled, "THE UNTOLD STORIES OF A UK PRISON," where a former U.K. prison officer, Jeff the Gov, talks about his time working in a prison.

Around the 31:54 timestamp, Jeff tells a story about seeing a prisoner boiling his feces in a kettle when he was not allowed to leave his cell for dinner. He describes the smell and the "splatter" as the feces were boiling in the kettle.

The clip resurfaced on Instagram Reels in early July 2026 and started to become the subject of memes. It is unclear who first used the audio as a meme.

One early example was uploaded by Instagram^[2] user prrzxx on July 6th, 2026, in a video where he lip-syncs to the story under the caption, "How Altitude and 2 losses in 89 games played last night," referring to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, garnering over 13,000 likes in three weeks.

The meme continued to spread, primarily on Instagram Reels and TikTok, in July 2026 as a way of comedically criticizing a subject. It is often referred to as a "slander audio."

On July 7th, 2026, Instagram^[3] user rarememes.exe posted a version of the meme that uses the clip to criticize Portuguese footballers Bruno Fernandes and Vitinha (Vítor Machado Ferreira), garnering over 39,500 likes in three weeks.

On July 25th, TikToker^[4] @fweesy0 posted a version of the meme that uses the audio to make fun of three anime series, including Chainsmoker Cat, My Dress-Up Darling and Rent a Girlfriend, garnering over 384,000 views in three days.

On July 27th, 2026, TikToker^[5] @qwsy._1 posted a meme set to an alternate dub of the video in which Jeff talks about whipping up "amazing foods," celebrating four different anime series, garnering over 80,000 views in a day.

On July 30th, 2026, Redditor The_Real_Dudusto shared a version of the meme to the /r/mastodonband^[6] subreddit, using the clip to discuss the first three albums released by the metal band Mastodon, receiving nearly 600 upvotes and 60 comments in four days.
