About
Hemmy, also known as Hemmi or Hemmie, is a slang term from the Comedy Central cartoon Legends of Chamberlain Heights, said by the white character Milton, also known as Milk. The meaning of "hemmy" is "homie" ("homey") because it's how Milk pronounces "homie" due to an accent he adopted from his Jewish step-dad, according to fans of the show. "Hemmy" was added to Urban Dictionary in 2025, largely due to a revival of Legends of Chamberlain Heights memes and content on social media platforms like TikTok, Twitter / X and Instagram, including "Where You Going Hemmy?" in late 2025.
