I Want to Fuck the X is a hornyposting phrasal template meme in which users explicitly express their desire to have sexual intercourse with a certain character or thing. The format typically features unconventional characters, such as those that are drawn in an abstract style or characters created for informational rather than artistic purposes, such as emojis, as well as objects that somewhat resemble the human body, and is primarily used in an ironic manner.

Origin

On August 13th, 2020, Redditor Gross_pubes69 posted the earliest found meme that used the caption format "I Want to Fuck X," a meme about The Henry Stickmin Collection character Ellie Rose, that received over 6,500 upvotes in the /r/okbuddyretard^[1] subreddit in six months (shown below).

Precursor

Prior to the popularity of the format, Holy Fucking Shit. I Want to Bang X So Goddamn Bad copypasta originating from a viral post by Redditor^[2] Beamo1080 in which he writes about wanting to have sex with anthropomorphic dog character Isabelle from Animal Crossing, gained popularity in 2018. The copypasta has since been used to hornypost about various characters.

Spread

On September 6th, 2020, Redditor^[3] cyntrovert posted the earliest found derivative meme based that used the snowclone, a meme about a Killer Bean character that received over 3,000 upvotes in six months (shown below, left). On September 11th, 2020, Redditor^[4] alexalexmax posted a meme about female Reddit Snoo that received over 23,800 upvotes in the /r/okbuddyretard in six months (shown below, right).

Following alexalexmax's post, the snowclone format gained achieved widespread use in the /r/okbuddyretard subreddit. For example, on September 12th, 2020, Redditor^[5] BonixoHD posted a meme about Cheems Gijinka that received over 310 upvotes in six months (shown below, left). On September 14th, 2020, Redditor^[6] VinVin77 posted a parody meme that received over 11,000 upvotes in the same period (shown below, right).

The format maintained popularity in the /r/okbuddysubreddit in the following year, with separate examples of use on Instagram and other social media. On June 22nd, 2021, Redditor^[7] qx0w posted a Coaxed Into a Snafu version of the meme.
