About

The Kumar Method is a viral marketing ploy purportedly started to sell a finance or social media success course through a series of viral videos about a "retired accountant" named Kumar who wants to become the ultimate accounting influencer.

The original Kumar Method video was uploaded to the @thekumarmethod TikTok and Instagram pages in early June 2026, followed by several other videos that gained millions of views over the following weeks. The videos are reminiscent of the Dany Slicer CEO of Evilcorp videos. As they garnered attention online, the Kumar Method videos inspired parodies and memes on sites like TikTok and Instagram.

Origin

On June 5th, 2026, the TikTok[1] and Instagram[2] pages @TheKumarMethod posted their first video, gaining over 1.1 million and 27.1 million views, respectively, in just under two weeks.

In the video, an actor claiming to be a retired accountant named Kumar announces his plans to take everyone's jobs and become the number one accounting influencer. The video uses flashy editing, similar to the Dany Slicer video.

@thekumarmethod you have been WARNED #accounting #retired #cpa #finance #edit ♬ original sound – TheKumarMethod

Several other videos were posted to the accounts between June 5th and 14th, 2026. Each video has Kumar explaining how he's going to become the number one accounting influencer.

For example, an upload on June 12th, 2026, to the @TheKumarMethod TikTok[3] account gained over 5.1 million views in five days.

I will soon change the world…

Many speculate that the videos are meant to drive traffic to the website thekumarmethod.co, which opens with a video of Kumar and text reading, "I made a nobody go viral on purpose. Kumar was engineered, not lucky. The full playbook drops June 18, 2026." The site reveals that Kumar is an actor and a marketing tactic and describes the Kumar Method:

The Kumar Method is the engineered-virality system behind Kumar, the retired accountant who hit 35M+ views and 772K followers in days. Not luck, a repeatable playbook for turning any person, brand, or product into a character the internet cannot stop watching. The full playbook drops June 18, 2026.

Spread

The Kumar Method videos inspired memes on TikTok and Instagram Reels as they garnered virality in June 2026.

For example, on June 12th, 2026, TikToker[5] @cluely posted a video parodying Kumar, garnering over 20,000 views in five days.

That same day, Instagram[6] user riteshkv_ posted a video parodying the videos, garnering over 127,000 likes in five days.

On June 16th, 2026, YouTuber[7] Lessons In Meme Culture posted a video on the Kumar Method that gained over 186,000 views, 8,200 likes and 600 comments in a day.

In the comment section, the YouTube channel TheKumarMethod made a post claiming to be the actual Kumar, stating that they do not have a website and that the person who made it is pretending to be them to scam people.
