About
Let's Groove is an animation meme and dance trend based on a scene from the 2005 film Kronk's New Groove, in which Kronk and Mrs. Birdwell dance to the Earth, Wind & Fire Song "Let's Groove".
The trend involves reanimations of the scene and dance videos where people recreate the scene. It started sometime in the mid 2020s and had a resurgence in August of 2026 on sites including TikTok and Instagram Reels.
Origin
The scene comes from The Emperor's New Groove sequel film Kronk's New Groove,[1] which was released directly to DVD on December 13th, 2005.
In the film, Kronk develops a love interest in Ms. Birdwell. The two work together to make bread dough and mix raisins into it to make raisin bread. The two start dancing together while waiting for the raisin bread to bake in an oven. While this occurs, the Earth, Wind & Fire song "Let's Groove" plays in the background.
The earliest known animation based on the specific dance was posted to X[2] by Yuramec on April 2nd, 2024. The animation shows Spooky Month characters Father Gregor and Moloch dancing to the song. The video received 680,000 views and over 28,000 likes in two years on X, and was reposted to YouTube[3] on April 15th, 2024, where it received over 504,000 views in two years.

On August 30th, 2026, TikToker[4] @sc128_blueblur posted a version of the meme based on Five Nights at Freddy's, garnering over 700,000 views in five days.

On August 31st, TikToker[5] @bchungusyt posted a version of the meme that shows Gordon Freeman dancing with Hatsune Miku, garnering over 381,000 views in four days.

On September 1st, Instagram[6] user nicolasmejia_vfx posted an animation of Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman from Marvel Rivals dancing, garnering over 167,000 likes in three days.
