Mark Zuckerberg Surfing, not to be confused with White Sunscreen Face Mark Zuckerberg, refers to a clip of Mark Zuckerberg surfing on a hydrofoil and holding an American flag while "Take Me Home, Country Roads" plays over the footage. The clip was remixed and edited in numerous ways by social media users after it was posted.

Origin

On July 4th, 2021, Mark Zuckerberg posted a video of himself surfing while holding an American flag to his Instagram. The video[1] gained over 3.1 million views (shown below).



Spread

The video was quickly parodied in a variety of ways on social media. Twitter user @J1MCUNN1NGHAM posted a video replacing the music with the theme from Jaws, gaining over 440 retweets and 1,300 likes (shown below, top). User @kylascan posted a parody video showing the Facebook logo on the American flag, gaining over 530 retweets and 4,500 likes (shown below, bottom).



Twitter user @Acyn[2] posted a photoshop adding Zuckerberg into the background of a scene in Titanic, gaining over 920 retweets and 7,600 likes (shown below, left). User @chlamydiarises[3] posted a parody showing Zuckerberg carrying the Isis flag, gaining over 2,600 retweets and 34,000 likes.
