The copypasta format started in May 2021 and achieved popularity in October 2023, as users posted the text in the hopes of trolling and spamming other people's posts on the platform as the bots flooded their comment section.

Origin

Although the exact origin of the copypasta is unknown, the earliest post using the text was uploaded on May 13th, 2021, by X^[1] user @boygeniusTV. The tweet (shown below) features a caption "My account got hacked I need a sugar daddy," which amassed roughly 3 likes and one retweet in three years.

On July 13th, 2022, a full version of the copypasta was posted on Reddit^[2] by user u/Haver_Of_The_Sex, which says "I lost my metamask seed phrase hacked account uniswap not swapping validate not working failed lost bitcoin need help essay tutor for twitch emotes and gfx banner pay essay and sugar daddy and raca coin eth wallet stolen need need need I lost my metamask." The post (shown below) amassed more than 186 upvotes and 23 comments in two years.

The copypasta became the subject of memes and jokes on X about summoning bots on the platform. For instance, on January 12th, 2024, X^[3] user _tost50 posted the With This Treasure I Summon://knowyourmeme.com/memes/with-this-treasure-i-summon (shown below, left) paired with the copypasta, which amassed more than 8 likes and three retweets in a few hours. On the same day, X^[4] user @JeturkHeavyArms uploaded the copypasta paired with an image of the summoning jutsu from the Naruto anime. The post (shown below, right) received roughly 8 likes and 2 retweets in a few hours.
