About

Sans Gaming is a YouTuber who produces parody Let's Play videos, YouTube Poop and other memes. In many instances, the producer edits the character Sans from the video game Undertale into the videos.

Online History

On June 27th, 2017, a user by the name 'The Murm' created the Sans Gaming YouTube account.[1] Three days, on June 30th, the first video, they uploaded their first Let's Play parody. The post (show below) received more than 2,300 views in less than one year.

Later that year, on October 5th, Sans Gaming uploaded a video of various pieces of footage set to the Rick and Mory theme song. The post (shown below, left) received more than 7,100 views in eight months.

Several months later, on February 14th, 2018, they published a variation of the Steamed Hams segment from The Simpsons. The post (shown below, right) received more than 5,600 views in three months.

Reception

On November 4th, 2017, The Murm launched the Sans Gaming Twitter [4] account. Within seven months, the account has garnered more than 900 followers.

On December 17th, 2017, a /r/SansGaming subreddit launched.[3]

As of May 2018, the YouTube channel has amassed more than 140,000 views and 2,600 subscribers.

Criticism

On March 29th, 2018, TV Tropes[2] user Mickoonsley19 commented on the YouTubers decision to name every video they upload "Sans Gaming." They said, "Every video has the title and description "Sans Gaming", which can make it difficult to find and rewatch a particular video you really enjoyed."
