Queen Elizabeth Reincarnated As Trisha Paytas' Baby refers to a series of memes and jokes that Queen Elizabeth II was reincarnated as Trisha Paytas' baby due to the closeness in time between Queen Elizabeth II's death and Paytas beginning to go into labor. The first joke implying this was posted in February 2022 to TikTok and numerous memes making the joke were posted online on September 8th following the Queen of England's death. In February 2024, the meme was revived with jokes about King Charles being reincarnated as Trisha's second baby after it was announced that Charles was diagnosed with cancer while Paytas was six months pregnant.

Origin

On February 14th, 2022, influencer Trisha Paytas announced she was pregnant.^[1] On February 16th, TikToker^[2] @smurphy_murphy posted a lip-dub video where he coughs into his sleeve under the caption, "Queen Elizabeth holding on for dear life so she doesn't get reincarnated as Trisha Paytas' baby," garnering over 484,000 views in seven months (shown below).

On September 7th, 2022, Paytas announced that she was 1cm dilated on Twitter,^[3] not meaning she is in labor but that her body is preparing for labor.^[4] The tweet gained over 34,000 likes and 3,000 retweets in two days (shown below, left). Queen Elizabeth II then died on September 8th.^[5] On that day, Twitter^[6] user @jul13an retweeted Paytas' tweet with a screenshot from the @smurphy_murphy video, writing, "trisha paytas having a baby soon and queen elizabeth dying…." garnering over 4,400 likes and 200 retweets in a day (shown below, right).

On September 8th, 2022, Twitter^[7] user @minasdemon retweeted Paytas' tweet, writing, "The Queen Elizabeth’s family to her after they read this tweet so she doesn’t reincarnate as trisha paytas’ baby," along with a video of a woman trying to revive a dead woman, garnering over 15,000 likes in a day. Twitter^[8] user @tezdamn wrote, "Holy fuck the Queen is going to be reincarnated as Trisha Paytas’ newborn child," garnering over 65,000 likes in a day. Twitter^[9] user @bklynb4by posted, "queen elizabeth when she gets reincarnated as trisha paytas’ baby," along with a video of "Lady Gaga": screaming, garnering over 61,000 likes and 6,400 retweets in a day (shown below).

That same day, Redditor Gojifantokusatsu posted a meme to /r/memes^[10] about the reincarnation, garnering over 6,500 upvotes in a day (shown below, left). Twitter^[11] user @wolf_cola_corp posted, "the queen’s soul waiting to reincarnate as trisha paytas’ baby" over the Queen Has Breached Containment meme, garnering over 119,000 likes and 9,600 retweets in a day (shown below, right).

Twitter^[12] user @trulyrick posted, "The soul of Queen Elizabeth flying across the globe to Trisha Paytas’ baby rn," along with a video of someone flying through the air and yelling, garnering over 325,000 likes and 41,000 retweets in a day (shown below). Twitter^[13] user @jasiashley posted a meme about the writers of The Crown having to write the reincarnation into the show, garnering over 146,000 likes and 10,000 retweets in a day.

Trisha Paytas Named Her Baby Elizabeth Rumors

The day the meme spread, people began making posts and memes claiming Trisha Paytas had the baby and named her Elizabeth. For example, on September 8th, 2022, TikToker^[14] @sawduplushia posted a fake tweet from Paytas announcing the baby's name as Elizabeth, gaining over 2 million views in under 24 hours (shown below).

The rumors are untrue, however, as Paytas announced that she's having a baby girl, but has not announced the name of her baby or announced that she's had the baby yet as of September 9th, 2022. That day, Distractify^[15] published a story about the memes and the rumor.

Trisha Paytas' Response

On September 9th, 2022, Trisha Paytas posted a photo to Instagram^[16] announcing that she has not had her baby and talking about the meme, garnering over 90,000 likes in an hour (shown below).

to have to announce that I’m still VERY much pregnant and have NOT given birth. I almost felt sad yesterday to tell people this. The internet is a weird place. I don’t know how any of those rumors started or why? Sorry to the royal family and my baby. Felt weird to say anything at all. But so many people IRL that we know, had been texting and calling about this. Including my dad who felt out of the loop as if I wouldn’t text him when I was going into labor. Still don’t know what to say. Other than – I’m still pregnant. And when I do give birth, we will announce it 💕 Condolences to the royal family. It’s very disheartening to hear of the Queen’s passing. For people genuinely excited for us, can we keep that same energy for the next week? It was very kind and nice to hear but will be even more fun when baby is here with us 🙏🏼
