Red Table Talk is an American web-based talk show starring Jada Pinkett Smith, her daughter Willow Smith and her mother Adrienne Banfield-Norris. The show, which began airing on Facebook in May 2018, features conversations about a variety of topics and aims to offer perspectives from three different generations.

History

On January 18th, Jada Pinkett Smith published a video announcement for the show. She describes the show as an "inter-generational show" where Pinkett Smith, Willow Smith and Adrienne Banfield-Norris discuss "sex, parenting, families, relationships, body image, fashion, beauty secrets" The post received 1.1 million views, 49,000 reactions, 8,400 shares and 3,100 comments in less than three years (shown below).

The first episode of "Red Table Talk" premiered on Facebook Watch on May 7th, 2018. The episode, "Motherhood," received more than 31 million views, 280,000 reactions, 151,000 shares and 47,000 comments in less than three years (shown below).^[1]

Reception

"Red Table Talk" received a number of award nominations, including several Daytime Emmy Awards nominations. In 2019, the three hosts won the NAACP Image Award for "Outstanding Host in a Talk or News / Information (Series or Special) – Individual or Ensemble."

Sad Will Smith / Entanglement

Sad Will Smith / Entanglement is a reaction image macro series based on a screenshot of actor Will Smith during a discussion about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith's relationship with singer August Alsina on her Facebook talk show Red Table Talk. Pinkett Smith refers to her relationship with Alsina as her "entanglement," which became the subject of numerous jokes on social media.

On July 10th, 2020, Red Table Talk published a video conversation between Will and Jada Pinkett Smith about rumors regarding their marriage and her relationship with singer August Alsina. Within 24 hours, the video received more than 27 million views, 597,000 reactions, 355,000 shares and 213,000 comments (shown below).

Of the relationship, Jada Pinkett Smith tells Smith in the video that she "got into entanglement with August."
