Smart people look at my stuff and then think about it. They follow me for an average of 6 months as they break the code, and then, finally, they get in touch. Matthew Wohl • 3rd+ Recruitment Made Easy - The Recruiter that says what you're thin... 3h Unpopular opinion: Candidates that accept counteroffers from their current employers should be forced to compensate the companies they've interviewed with. + Follow Companies spend time and resources interviewing you. They are offering to pay you more than the last person thought you were originally worth. I am the biggest advocate for candidates in the hiring process but I find accepting counteroffers to be unprofessional and shortsighted. If you want a raise, ask for it before you start interviewing. I assumed he was interested in additional income with a 2nd job, which is the case with many applicants these days (unfortunately). But Joe was smarter than the average candidate. ➡He was willing to consider taking a lower paying job to get in and prove himself. ➡But he also knew the phone interview could lead to other company opportunities. So Joe applied for a $15/hour evening position. But is moving forward for a $100K+ daytime sales executive position. Be like Joe. Keep your options open. Have that conversation.
