About

Socrates Skeleton Ragebait Videos or Socrates Skeleton Ragebait Memes refers to a series of AI-generated "what if" videos explaining what might happen if you were sent to Ancient Greece, a skeleton guide representing the viewer, with Socrates always showing up and annoying the skeleton with his philosophical beliefs. The trend is inspired by TikToker @theoretico5 and went viral in early March 2026 on TikTok, inspiring a reaction GIF in which Socrates twerks.

Origin

On February 7th, 2026, TikTok[7] user @theoretico5, known for "what if" videos that feature a skeleton who walks viewers through hypothetical scenarios, posted a video asking, "What if you spent one week as an ancient Greek?"

On February 13th, 2026, Instagram[1] user mr_datavisuals uploaded similar video as @theoretico5's.

The video walks through parts of ancient Greek life that would shock a modern person. About 25 seconds into the video, the skeleton attends a philosophical debate led by Socrates, who asks, "What is the meaning of justice?" The skeleton answers, "I don't know, bro," and Socrates spends four hours lecturing the skeleton. The video gained over 1.6 million views in a month.

In early March 2026, TikTokers started posting similar videos visualizing absurd scenarios, often involving Socrates.

The earliest notable example was posted by TikToker[2] @doctorboner0 and asks, "What would happen if you brought fried chicken to ancient Greece?" In the video, Socrates shows up at the fried chicken stand and asks if enjoying something so much is morally acceptable, then eats some chicken. The video gained over 1.7 million views in a week.
