You know what's funny? I read the post he wrote about Aaron and it might not have proof that Aaron was a troll, but it has plenty of proof that Garry doesn't even understand his own community.

Nintendo and GMod are more correlated than he thinks. A lot of famous projects made with GMod also had Mario somewhere. So when he says that he doesn't understand why people are pissed off that after 20 years of not bothering with that, now comes and say "You cannot play with these toys anymore" it's obvious that he doesn't WANT to understand his own community.

Normally Nexusmods is the biggest non-Steam Workshop one. Beyond that places like ModDB or game specific fan websites.

However as I said before: almost none of the larger modding websites will accept third party IP mods for the same reason. Some act on a report, others are more proactive.

To quote Nexusmods ToS: "Absolutely no copyrighted work is to be used without permission of the original creator. This includes content from other games, from DLCs, music creators or from other file authors. This also includes members from countries that do not recognise copyright laws." and that's something almost all of them have.

With Nexus, I might be wrong, but copyrighted work, as far as I am aware does not actually mean "Content from other games", but rather "No ASSETS taken from other games".
Skyrim and Fallout 4 both have plenty of weapons, armors, NPCs and other things from other games, but as long as it's a 1-to-1 recreation and not a literally port or conversion, it's seems like a fair game for Nexus? Like, you can literally find monsters, outfits and weapons from Zelda for Skyrim on Nexus.

Pulling a pic from one of mattwo's comments further down:

I'm just going to focus on that first sentence. What Garry's been providing this whole time, contrary to his apparent belief, isn't evidence, but rather his word, and the thing about giving your word is that it only holds as much weight as the other person has trust in you.
A month ago, his word would have held weight. But the thing he either doesn't realize, or doesn't care to, is that by complying with that DCMA in such an extreme, far reaching manner with no forewarning, he's violated two decades worth of implicit trust that he'd built up by hosting the mods. His word holds basically zero weight to the people who were affected, and his belligerent insistence that it should be enough as he refuses to back it up with any other proof at all, just makes him look worse.
Ironically, Nintendo themselves would be a more trustworthy source, because in a negative way, I do trust them to do this sort of thing. But I (and a lot of other people) also know that trolls are willing to exploit copyright via impersonation to get stuff taken down for incredibly petty reasons, so yeah, I'd want a bit of verification to a potential DCMA, rather than seemingly just going "Well this sure looks like a legal document, time to nuke 20 years of mods."

And maybe he did do his due diligence. But if that's the case, why won't he show us the proof he has? His caginess (and mentioning that someone else assured him it was legit, with no indication he did anything on his own, or even saw the verification himself) makes it look more like he's covering his ass because doesn't want to admit he didn't look into it before he took everything down, and therefore might have been tricked by a false DCMA or overreacted to a real one.

I said this before and I'll say it again.
Garry is just a negligent, spiteful, stubborn man.
Even if we have a solid, 100% confirmation that it's Nintendo themselves…
Ever since the announcement, Gary shown NO remorse in getting the mods removed, telling people to never reupload them and to shove all Nintendo content in the bin. Regardless of how legit it is, it's already straight up unprofessional and feels disrespectful towards 20 YEARS of content that is ESSENTIAL part of game's history. You could at least show some respect! But no, the man just does not care, he is more annoying at the IDEA that he might be WRONG and scammed. Yeah, sending him personal handwritten mails saying he is wrong is… wrong, but it's because people fucking CARE. And he, simply, does not. And now he is not only contradicting already existing info, but begins to yapp about why people are still wrong and how he cannot even empathize with their grief.
His entire LIFE is the way it is because Valve allowed GMOD to exist and use it's assets. But he probably doesn't care about GMOD anymore and is more interested in making fucking Roblox on Source 2 with S&Box.

They're just Twitter links, nothing that bad.
It's just more talk about the DMCA shite, and if the responsible party is indeed Nintendo or the supposed troll. Garry thinks this troll is smoke and mirrors, and still thinks that it was Nintendo doing the take downs.

While the other three Twitter links are users criticizing Garry, some have evidence to back up that this Troll is real. One criticize his overal response (Second link), the third rebuked his claims of the troll being fake. Oh, and the first link just mentions that Garry didn't mind the idea of paid mods and actually was in support of it.
