Hazbin Hotel is animated web series created by Vivienne Medrano. The series follows Charlie, the princess of Hell, as she attempts to rehabilitate prisoners and reduce overpopulation in the underworld.

Online History

On April 28th, 2015, artist and YouTuber ^[1] Vivienne Medrano published a video entitled "Demon Headcanon Voices." The video features characters from Hazbin Hotel tested various voices for reference for the series. The post (shown below) received more than 715,000 views in three years.

Later that year, on August 26th, she posted a video^[2] of her drawing the character the Molly from Hazbin Hotel on a computer. The post (shown below, left) received more than 860,000 views in less than three years.

The following year, on January 9th, 2016, Medrano uploaded a test shot of the series. The post (shown below, right) received more than 414,000 views in two years.

On June 27th, 2017, Medrano posted a video announcing that she was putting an official Hazbin Hotel pilot into production. The post (shown below) received more than 100,000 views in less than one year.

Later that year, she posted a teaser for the series. The post (shown below, left) received more than 560,000 views in less than six months.

Several months later, on April 20th, she released a trailer for the series.^[3] The post (shown below, right) received more than 658,000 views in three days.

Fandom

In 2014, Medrano launched a Patreon page for her work, which primarily focuses on Hazbin Hotel. As of April 2018, she has garnered more than 500 patrons and $3,500 a month.^[4]

On June 19th, 2017, the Hazbin Hotel Twitter ^[5] account launched. As of April 2018, the page has more than 15,000 followers.
