Uno is a card game created in 1971 and currently distributed by Mattel. In the game, players take turns discarding cards to be the first to have all their cards discarded from their hand. Since its release, it has grown to be a popular card game, seeing a number of variations, themed decks, and related products and video games.
History
Uno was created by Merle Robbins in 1971, who started selling the game from his barbershop after letting his friends and family play it. He would later sell the rights to Robert Tezak, who would found International Games Inc and would manufacture the game from there. In 1992, Mattel purchased the company.
