Tungsten Cube refers to memes that portray receiving a cube made of pure tungsten (a rare type of dense metal) as the male equivalent of receiving flowers, and as a desirable object to own in general, despite having no obvious purpose.

The earliest known meme about getting a tungsten cube was posted in December 2024 by X / Twitter user @uberstuber as part of the If You're a Guy In Your Early 20s Buy a Rolex meme trend. Memes about tungsten cubes were further popularized in June 2026 on TikTok after user @jacobw.health posted a video in which he lists a tungsten cube among other "flower-equivalent" gifts, also including banana bread.

On December 28th, 2024, X^[1] user @uberstuber posted a meme that parodies a tweet reading, "If you're a guy in your early 20s, buy a Rolex. go into debt if you have to." The post encourages young men to buy tungsten cubes, meaning a functionless cube of pure tungsten metal.

On May 28th, 2026, TikToker^[2] @jacobw.health posted a video where he lists the male versions of receiving flowers. Among his list are back scratches, banana bread and a tungsten cube. The video gained over 6 million views in about a month.

In mid-June 2026, TikTokers began posting videos further spreading the tungsten cube meme, including parodies of @jacobw.health's video.

For example, on June 12th, 2026, TikToker^[3] @drakoarmy posted a parody that gained over 220,000 views in about two weeks.

On June 20th, TikToker^[4] @deadpocll posted a comedy video where a man acts poorly after not receiving a tungsten cube from his girlfriend, garnering over 800,000 views in three days.

On June 22nd, 2026, TikToker^[5] @lostwave24 posted a meme using a GIF of a character eating bread and playing with a tungsten cube, captioned, "Me eating banana bread, and playing with my tungsten cube when it's bosting," "bosting" meaning "bussin," garnering over 860,000 views in a day.
