Zoomers were around that impressionable pre-teen age during the mid-2010s and that period was also when s------- on people for being a genuine fan of something was at it's most potent. What happened was a lot of young people becoming self-conscious about their interests at an age where they're supposed to be experimenting with their hobbies and doing stupid s--- for the hell of it. The possibilty of becoming some random commentary channel's bullying target of the week didn't help matters either, as it made these dumb kids afraid of genuine expression. I can't f------ prove it, but I don't what other cultural happenings back then could make kids grow up into weird, prickly adults.
