Refill Your Popcorn… You'll Love This Next Part refers to an exploitable meme format featuring Donald Trump, which infers that he's part of a grand "show" involving QAnon and other conspiracies that are unfolding. The original image was made in mid-2020 during his 2020 presidential campaign by an unknown page called The Second Revolution. Going into the 2020s, the image was re-edited and recaptioned through various iterations that replaced what "show" was being enjoyed and what item was being refilled. The meme predominantly spread on iFunny in 2021.

Origin

Sometime in April 2020, a currently unknown social media page under the name The Second Revolution created a Donald Trump infographic that had a top and a bottom caption reading, "Are You Enjoying The Show? / Refill Your Popcorn… You'll Love This Next Part" (shown below, left). The first discovered repost of the meme was uploaded by the Facebook^[1] page Nine Mile Firearms on April 18th, 2020, earning over 20 reactions in three years. Additionally, the Trump photograph used in the meme is from his "Person of the Year" TIME Magazine^[2] cover in 2016 (shown below, right).

On August 20th, 2020, the image was posted by iFunnyer^[3] @Fartgravy, earning over 30 smiles in three years. Roughly a year later, on August 15th, 2021, the image was then shared by iFunnyer^[4] @Georgian, earning over 130 smiles in two years. On the same day, August 15th, iFunnyer^[5] @Moosay posted the first known re-edit of the image, referencing the Confederate folk song "Goober Peas." The meme gained over 580 smiles in two years (shown below).

Spread

After the meme was shared to iFunny, multiple iterations surfaced on the site in August 2021. For instance, on August 18th, 2021, iFunnyer^[6] @BrandonSanderson posted a Santa Claus iteration, gaining roughly 3,300 smiles in two years (shown below, left). Also on August 18th, iFunnyer^[7] @projared posted a video version that used the Are You Guys Going Trick or Treating? audio. It gained roughly 3,600 smiles in two years (shown below, right).

On August 21st, 2021, iFunnyer^[8] @Dixie_Lionsof_Bears then posted a video compilation of many memes that were shared to iFunny in the days prior, gaining roughly 1,500 smiles in two years (shown below).

Going into 2022 and 2023, the memes were shared on Instagram^[9] and Tumblr,^[10] among other platforms.
