Hot Pockets Box Parodies are images of the box for the snack food Hot Pockets are photoshopped to make it appear as though the flavor of the hot pockets within are something disgusting.

Origin

While it's unclear which post was the first to photoshop the Hot Pockets box, variations began appearing on Instagram in November of 2016. One of the earliest, posted on November 7th by savageryfarm,^[1] made the box appear to have sand flavored hot pockets, presumably a reference to Pocket Sand.

Spread

Over the coming months, several other variations appeared on sites such as Instagram and iFunny, though the meme didn't start actively generating attention until the middle of February 2017. Between February 17th and February 24th, several threads were posted to /r/MemeEconomy asking about the value of Hot Pockets parodies. The most popular, uploaded on the 23rd, pairs the hot pocket with VHS static.
