About

I Can't Goon is a catchphrase used in reference to the goonicide and gooneral popularized through a viral video of a man chanting "I can't goon!" in a restaurant. The phrase is presumably a play on the sentence "I can't go on" and is sometimes falsely claimed to be the final words of Nautica Malone before he took his own life in early 2025. It became a prevalent reference in memes related to the goonicide in late January through early February 2025, including through an original TikTok audio of the man chanting the phrase.

Origin

On January 27th, 2025, Instagram[1] user tresellers posted several videos from the gooneral. In one video, a man is seen entering an In-N-Out Burger location with a sign, yelling, "I can't goon." The video gained over 9,600 likes in three weeks. The video was reuploaded by TikToker[2] @rig.irony that day, garnering over 2.1 million views in the same span of time.

Spread

The video garnered viral spread and inspired the phrase "I can't goon" to become a rallying cry in relation to the goonicide incident. On January 27th, 2025, it was reposted by X[3] user @senzuservin, garnering over 4,800 likes in three weeks.

On January 31st, TikToker[4] @lowtapervoidz posted a video of three meant chanting the phrase in a mall, with one man holding a sign reading "I can't goon," garnering over 3.2 million views in just over two weeks.

Drive-Thru Goonicide

Drive-Thru Goonicide, also known as Pantsless Guy In Bikini Bean Barista Drive-Thru, refers to a viral video of a man exposing himself at a coffee shop drive-thru in Arizona. The video shows an employee at Bikini Bean Barista recording a man driving a Black Dodge Challenger through the drive-thru window, asking him, "Sir, have you been here before?" As the woman approaches the man's window, it becomes apparent that the man is not wearing pants and is exposing himself. The woman then says, "Unacceptable, you need to leave." The clip began going viral on Instagram and Twitter / X on January 10th, 2025. The funeral occurred in front of the drive-thru featured in the viral video recorded by one of the employees in late January, spawning memes, jokes and backlash on X / Twitter, Instagram and TikTok over the people who attended the event.
