The photo sparked viral discussions and reactions on Twitter / X and TikTok in late June 2025 about whether the vagina seen in the artwork belongs to Lorde, as well as using the picture as an exploitable meme and photoshopped images. The meme's nickname notably uses the -ussy slang suffix, which is added on to Lorde's name.

On June 25th, 2025, the X^[1] page @bchartsnet uploaded an NSFW picture showing Lorde's fourth studio album, titled Virgin, and vinyl cover insert from it, which it claimed features a picture of the singer's genitals. The post, which notably used the term "Lordussy" (seen below), amassed over 228,000 views and 5,700 likes in three days.
