George Droyd is a meme and content creator known for posting video edits about a cyborg version of George Floyd who has been revived by Microsoft using the power of artificial intelligence (AI). Droyd was created in April 2024 to promote the FloydAI cryptocurrency. George Droyd's social media accounts garnered a small following by late 2024, going viral on X / Twitter in October of that year.
History
On April 17th, 2024, the @FloydProMax X[1] account announced the launch of $FloydAI, sharing a link to its pump.fun[2] page. Along with the post is a video using an image of a cyborg George Floyd, which explains that he is a "new Microsoft project," garnering over 90 likes in six months. This is the earliest known post by George Droyd.

On May 23rd, the GeorgeDroyd Instagram[3] page posted its first video. On July 14th, the account posted a video[4] edit in which an AI Elon Musk talks about the "fent [fentanyl] research" that went into creating George Droyd and claiming the cyborg has "18 months of neck reinforcement technology," garnering over 47,000 likes in five months.
On May 24th, the first video was uploaded to the George Droyd YouTube[5] channel.
On July 31st, 2024, the first video was uploaded to the @GeorgeDroydd TikTok[6] account. On September 16th, a video was posted to the TikTok[7] page in which it appears as if MrBeast has kidnapped George Droyd, garnering over 197,000 views in a month.

George Droyd garnered a small following by mid-October 2024, with over 8,500 followers on X, 41,000 on Instagram, 18,000 on TikTok and 2,000 subscribers on YouTube. George Droyd also runs the webpage Floydai.net.[8]
On October 14th, 2024, X[9] user @d_gilz posted, "His name was George Droyd," garnering over 1,000 likes in four days. That day, X[10] user @jeetsbyNav quote-reposted him with a screenshot of the parody AI chatbot hosted on the FloydAI website, which replies with the N-word to any prompt, writing, "insane tech," garnering over 30,000 likes in the same span of time.
On October 17th, X[11] user @TanJackedTrader reposted one of George Droyd's videos, writing, "Okay, this content is insane 😂😭 #FloydAI," garnering over 1,700 likes in a day.
