We Didn't Think Of Protection refers to an edit of a lewd roleplay audio by dudetlewd (also known as Dude That's Lewd) in which a woman, while having sex, says that she and her partner didn't think of protection before starting and asks if he knows the pull-out method, the partner repeatedly responding "no" in a funny voice. The original audio was posted to dudetlewd's Patreon page in March 2024, and the edit, which adds the nos, was posted to TikTok that November, inspiring memes over the following months.

Origin

On March 27th, 2024, dudetlewd published a lewd roleplay audio titled "Accidently [sic] Breeding A Cosplayer" to Patreon.^[6] Around the 9:50 mark in the audio, the woman, mid-sex, talks about how she and her partner don't have protection, asks him if he knows how to pull out, then suggests he might not have to. The audio was made available on Kemono shortly after it was uploaded.

On November 17th, 2024, TikToker^[1] @swedish_brunett3 posted a video of War Thunder footage set to an edit of the audio in which a funny "no" sound effect has been added in-between the girl's dialogue, as if the boy is responding, garnering over 6.2 million views in six months. This is the earliest known example of the meme audio.

The audio went viral on TikTok over the following months, seeing a particular rise in use in February 2025.

For example, on December 12th, 2024, TikToker^[2] @titan_of_joy posted a video reacting with shock to the audio, wondering if it's allowed on TikTok, garnering over 1.1 million views in five months.

On February 12th, 2025, TikToker^[3] @yokomiz posted a meme using the audio over a simple animation featuring Ango Sakaguchi from Bungo Stray Dogs, garnering over 170,000 views in three months.

On March 7th, X^[4] user @TalesNyan reposted a TikTok^[5] by @katepatton06 that uses the audio, writing, "OMG! @DudeTLewd audio spotted in the WILD!?!?" garnering over 2,500 likes in two months.
