Wild west s--- where you can scam people, steal, etc for a profit and no one can stop you. Most NFT s--- is a genuine scam. Many others are stolen so any "ownership" you have is dubious at best. A lot of NFT s--- is just stolen images from google, deviant art, pixiv etc harvested with a bot and then put on a big NFT site. The artists get f-----, get no money, get their art stolen, and then you have someone out there claiming they own the artists work because a guy in an alleyway sold them a piece of paper that said so, even though he never had authorization. If you're a sociopath then it's a great thing because you can get rich off of theft, ponzi schemes etc as no actual laws really exist to prohibit much of it, and artists and such don't have the money to sue, so they have to just lose their art entirely.

Not a fan of NFTs and I certainly don't support art theft by any means. Reposting and profiting from other people's artworks without permission is horrible and I can't codemn it enough. That said, their final point is just silly that the artist will "lose their art entirely."

NFTs are nothing: they are not the rights to the image, nor are they are not a physical object. That's what makes them so laughable, because it's just a copy of a picture/model to look at. They're reposting a copy and selling the rights to a piece of crypto that's attached to a copy of that image. The artist still has their original and they absolutely have all the rights to that image. Should they be okay with their art being stolen? No and I wouldn't be either, but OP frames it like the NFT scammers are somehow gaining control of the art in any way, shape, or form.
