Scarlet takes a tumble is a viral blooper video of a heavyset African American teenager who gets onto a table while singing and eventually falls off, as the title suggests. The video, posted in October 2008, instantly went viral, taking only 2 weeks to gain 380 ratings and 79,000+ views. Various reaction videos and remixes of the blooper followed, most of said reaction videos being of African American people laughing at her.

Origin

Though the original version was removed by the uploader from YouTube, many people have reuploaded the full version back onto YouTube. Since it has been deleated, original stats on the video have been lost. However, the cut version (At the top of the page) has recieved nearly 17,000,000 views to date.

Reactions

The video became popular for it's reaction videos. Similarly to Two Girls One Cup, the reactions were typically over the top, but in this case, it was mainly laughing and not disgust. Another surge in popularity occured when popular YouTuber Shane Dawson (who is currently 3rd most subscribed on YouTube) made a video which featured a still animal picture reaction to the video, which he voiced over in the over the top manner of most reaction videos. When the video was still up, he linked the video, causing massive referrals to the video. Currently, the video has 4,161,000+ views to date.
