The 20 year mahjong game

Mahjong Legend Akagi has a quite famous arc, Washizu Mahjong.
As the image shows, the arc lasted 20 years without hiatus (while there where some times Fukumoto took a break, he usually published a double chapter to make up for it), with the arc ending in 2018 at chapter 296 of 307, (the timeline being published in chapter 296).
The entire arc starting in chapter 70 and ending in 296 for 226 chapters around 73% of the whole manga.
If you want to understand how long Washizu Mahjong was, it started one month after one piece started. It also covered the entire 8-year hiatus from berserk.
Washizu Mahjong was ridiculously long, and I loved every second of it, if you have the chance, read Akagi, you don’t even have to know mahjong to feel the tension.

So this was brought up last time and the way they go about turning this into a manga is by having it from the perspective of an owner of a cheese factory who feels guilty about the way he's exploiting his workers.

Admittedly, turning <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_and_Peace">War and Peace</a> into a comic is a pretty smart idea, since it makes it much less of a slog than the original 1225 page novel is.

<b>Thus Spoke Zarathustra:</b>

<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thus_Spoke_Zarathustra">Thus Spoke Zarathustra</a> is the novel that expands upon Friedrich Nietzsche's concept of the Übermensch, the cyclical nature of the world and how man has to strip himself of his attachments in the world in order to ascend to godhood.

It is also the novel from which the phrase "God is Dead" is derived.

<b>On The Origin of Species</b>

<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/On_the_Origin_of_Species">On The Origin of Species</a> is a work of scientific literature by Charles Darwin that is considered to be the foundation of evolutionary biology.

Like all scientific literature, it's a very, <i>very</i> dry read, so hopefully they managed to make it somewhat more bearable for the casual reader.

Now, I'm going to list these in order and, <i>I s--- you not</i>, these are all real mangas.
