It's also the 1 year anniversary of the Down With Cis post. You know the one. If not, here's a link to it. Reread it? Good. Now for the big reveal. It was all well-planned satire. DWCblr is probably scrolling past this post now, if not already. Let me explain. It was written as satire to mock the "and the whole bus applauded" kind of posts, but subtly. I'll be frank here; I did not expect people to think I was serious. When I realized people were, I decided "to heck with it" and went along for a while, because it amused me. After a while I grew tired of that, without revealing the actual reason, which you just read earlier this paragraph, because I'm a trickster, I suppose. More than just the Down With Cis post being satire, so were other posts around that time, most notably the one where I pondered on the origins of transphobia. You can guess what that's satire of. It should be clear. Now, not everything I've done has been satire; only some posts around that general time period, and maybe a few afterwards. I don't remember. All my recent opinions are non-satirical “Lol ur just saying this to cover ur ass" It was satire from the very beginning. You're just upset that you had to be told to notice. "but u still want to kill trans people with attack helicopters!!” I've already commented on this, but a bit more explanation wouldn't hurt. The train post? Satire. The helicopter comment? Not satire and completely innocent, although after thinking about it a bit it wasn't purely literal; if I had a helicopter, I'd use it for (chaotic) good, even if said good isn't educating people on internal combustion engines. A young trans man made a drawing that said "Down with Hate in the hopes that people would reconsider spreading hatred as a "joke, and was met with threats made against him and people trying to erase his identity. This is the point it has gotten No one has ever denied that transphobia exists. Do those of you attacking the notion of casting off hatred really think any of us are totally okay with how many deaths there have been in the trans community just within the past year?? Especially to people that grew up in a time where the LGBTA community first started becoming a big presence in our culture, it's honestly devastating to hear about, because you feel like you've been deceived about every positive stride that's been made. Like, you honestly have to be a truly heartless monster to not feel some sort of pain when you hear about people being killed just for who they know they are. Our brains are who we really are-the rest is just meat and chemicals that can be changed and rearranged accordingly. Trying to get this through to people in our society is still a problem. We're also well aware that cisphobia hasn't caused any deaths (at least, not that anyone's aware of). However, is this really how you want to represent your cause? Is this really how the LGBTA community should be represented? By hatred? By becoming a student of the same conduct that people have used to harm you? Because some of us in it would beg to differ. If this is how you react to the idea of not spreading exactly the same kind of hatred you claim to be against, you need to stop and reevaluate your life, your values, and if equality is really what you stand for.
