Using language similar to theirs helps (not the incendiary stuff though) If they don't get directly involved, or continue the hate speech, press them once more, and then kindly say goodbye - something like "If you'd prefer not to talk about this I understand, but please don't be abusive and deceptive," or simply repeat what they said that was offensive in quotations Dont give them any ammo, ever.
