I think we should all take a minute to think about recent events Think about how we have been portrayed by the mainstream media And I honestly think we should thank Brianna Wu. You see, Gamer Gate has been going 2 months now For 2 solid months this s--- has been going strong For a social media movement, much less one involving gamers, who are shall we say, easily distracted, that is absolutely goddamn amazing. Hell, it brought together gamers from sites that usually f------ hate each other. Usually we get all p----- off, vent, then zerg rush off back to our own little lives And so its easy to feel like maybe, just maybe the sites were right when they say we are a tiny, tiny, insignificant movement. We are just a couple hundred whackjobs who think we are bigger because we are in our own little echo chamber. And its easy to feel like we really are alone and losing Then, something happened. The 3 major professional victims actually ran to the press They got noticed by the big media sites and they started to run hit pieces on us Now l initially felt down about it, like maybe we were going to get steam rolled. But then I realized something The games media felt so threatened by us they had to go running to the mainstream media The same media that for years have painted us as violent sociopathss They had no problem tainting gamers as a whole as misogynists to their long time enemy... And that tells me one thing They're scared They are so terrified of us they will go to the extreme to try to shut us down. You don't do that for just a couple hundred whackjobs Going to the mainstream media is basically their version of the nuclear option. So by doing it they confirmed that we are bigger than they thought. We are much larger, much louder, much more of an actual threat then they ever thought we would be and that has them terrified. They did all they could to shut us up, make us feel like s---, make us feel alone and turn on each other and everything they tried has failed. Now they are up against a faceless horde that they can not stop They are losing revenue. Think about that. Big, multi million/billion dollar corporations do not want to have anything to do with them so are refusing to pay them. And their profit margins were already super thin. I think we can expect a few sites begging for donations just to pay the server fees soon. And all these professional victims are going to have to stock up on their patreon money because once the media gets bored of them, its going to just be them and us. And I doubt we will be in the mood to fund these parasites They are lashing out and revealing just how hateful they are They are desperate to assign us "leaders" so they can have someone to target and character assassinate but we keep refusing to give them a target to shoot. For all their bluff and bluster about how unimportant we are, they have revealed that we truty are a force to be reckoned with and they are terrified of us so much they do not know what else to do.
