Jonathan Joseph Copeland, 28, of Fort Shawnee, Ohio, is charged in a criminal complaint filed in the District of Columbia with assaulting, resisting, or impeding law enforcement officers with a dangerous weapon and interfering with a law enforcement officer during a civil disorder, both felony charges. The first ground asserted by defendant raises a novel Fourth Amendment issue in this Circuit: whether an account user has a protectible Fourth Amendment interest in non-content information derived from account activity records revealing that user-generated content of a highly public event occurred at a particular location and time. During the pretrial conference, on July 15, 2022, this Court denied defendant's motion to suppress in an oral ruling, with this Memorandum Opinion to follow to explain fully why, under the unique facts and circumstances of this case, defendant has not established that he had a reasonable expectation of privacy in the non-content account information disclosed by Facebook. Duped by the former president's despicable lies

Although I am appalled and disgusted with the allegations against Thomas Webster regarding his conduct in Washington DC on January 6, 2021. I do not feel that Thomas Webster is a danger to the community. In fact, he has a history of honorable service in the USMC and in the NYPD. I was shocked to learn from former colleagues that Thomas Webster is being subject to Pre-trial detention in Virginia hundreds of miles from home. A principal of our legal system is innocent till proven guilty. I believe, based on Thomas Webster's personal history of service to country and community, he is entitled to be released un bail or even non to be with his family in New York to prepare for hic trial. I think Thomas may have been duped by the former President's despicable lies and he is deserving of mercy. Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. Sincerely,
