You are part of the problem, and so is everyone else who dismissed it as "oh, it's just a pet in a cartoon, it's no big deal" when I pointed this crap out last time, because yes it goddamn is a big deal. The fact that you just blow it off as unimportant is exactly why it is important. The message of "NO doesn't really mean NO if he's persistent" is poisonous, because it so pervasive at so basic a level that nobody even notices it until it's their daughter sobbing on a metal table in an emergency room. When you hear people talk about "r--- culture" and dismiss it because it doesn't sound like a real thing to you, this is what it means. Men are trained by society from childhood- starting right here with kids' cartoons-- to think that if they want something from a girl, all they have to do is be persistent about it and they'll get it, women are trained the same way to think that such behavior is not only acceptable, but cute and endearing, instead of what it is: taking away a woman's humanity right to self- determination and reducing her to a resource point. This is where it starts. It's not a matter of one guy storming into a high school classroom and screaming that bitches wanna be dominated so hit 'em if they resist, it's ten million children in front of their TV:s getting a constant stream of girl characters telling boy characters to hit the road in a million different situations and being treated like the villain of the story because the boy waaa-ants something. It gets into kids' heads from every direction that that's just how it is, and when they grow up they don't see anything wrong with a "romantic comedy" where some dude basically just stalks and terrorizes a woman until she submits to him because her opinion isn't as important as whatever he wants from her and hahaha that's funny! instead of repulsive, and then everyone around you wonders what your daughter did wrong to make it happen to herself

$I am a trans masculine gender queer. I am pretty butch and really faggy. I am not attached to a location right now. When I remember I update my city to where I am atm I am part ChocTaw and maybe a few other things. I also spent the last five years in racist Portland I am definitely a mutt. I find it problematic when Oregon so I feel like this is in my face all the time people erasure that part of me because of my skin and I am just done with the whole b-------. I am privilege. As a friend of mine said I am not a fraction of anything. I come from a culture that was racist remarks and have been trimming down the colonized, r---- and sold to white people. So yes I people I associate to those whom don't offend me feel I have a right to explore and find out more ad nauseum. Mostly, I just want to be around about the culture I came from. Also I grew up tired of politely calling out white people on their people whom don't erasure me or put me in that I have strong politics around trans misogyny around POCs. My half sister is visibly 1/2 Mexican white guy box because it doesn't fit and is really and my step-sisters are visibly 1/2 black. I grew up uncomfortable. Sure I am willing to squeeze into it in a divide community and I was never allowed on when I am doing social justice advocacy but the white side of the fence so to say. But that's ok generally it just doesn't work out when people because the other side of the fence is and has always been and always will be where I feel most I sit wrong. I don't understand social cues. I don't comfortable I am on the Aspergers spectrum and if you don't know what that means and can't be bother to look it up; don't bother talking to me expect me to live in it. I talk wrong. I stand wrong. okcupid I have zero tolerance for cultural appropriation . As a person who moves through many communities, I am not speaking about cultural appreciation. If you don't know the difference, go find out. understand what is expected out of me. It's like a glass box to me that I am always breaking. Mostly I don't mind breaking it, the problem is that it seems to bother others. There is all this noise and broken glass and blood (I am speaking metaphorically here.)
