![Supper Mario Broth @MarioBrothBlog In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, the Refund badges can be used to generate free money. With 26 or more of them equipped, items become essentially free, while "refundmaxing" with 99 of them gives Mario a whopping 565% of the item's selling price as a refund. The Refund badges in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door can be used to generate free money if enough of them are used. The formula is 75% of the item's selling price, plus 5% for each badge past the first. Most items' selling prices are 1/2 of their buying prices. With 1 Refund badge, Mario gets 75% of the item's selling price as a refund, rounded down. This is around 1/3 of the way towards affording another one of the same item. With 6 Refund badges, Mario gets 100% of the item's selling price as a refund. This means that at this point, using items is just as profitable as selling them*. With 26 Refund badges, Mario gets 200% of the item's selling price as a refund. Since selling prices are usually 50% of the average buying price, this means Mario can buy another of the same item with the refund, making items free. "Refundmaxing", or using up all 99 Badge points on Refund badges, gives Mario 565% of an item's selling price as a refund. Since this is usually more than twice the item's buying price, Mario can buy two more of an item with the refund from a single one, resulting in an endless flow of free money. *Some items have special higher selling prices at specific shops, e.g. a Fire Flower sells for a higher amount than usual in Fahr Outpost. This does not apply to the special prices. Source: info: @jdaster64](https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/masonry/002/860/615/c54.png)
