About the leaks

GRIM-ECHOES also, reminder if there ever needed to be one that with BDSP on the horizon and leaks indicating that there's no substantial new/improved content as per standards that were set with previous remakes (and certain content/QOL features from later gens are in fact missing), as well as the overall quality of the games indicating severe crunch, that there is absolutely no reason to pay $60 for these games. There is nothing BDSP could offer you that Platinum cannot give you in droves, and if you want to experience good, heartfelt remakes that were faithful to the original games while heavily expanding upon and improving base content then FRLG, HGSS, and ORAS are all right there and had something unique to offer for every respective generation that gives players incentives to play those over the base games if they desire. If you're worried about somehow compensating the developers for their time spent on this project, they've already been paid. Your money will not be going to the people that deserve it. It can't be stressed enough that a day 1 patch that replaces placeholder music with the final compositions because the composers were unable to finish their work before the game went gold is not normal. Waiting for the game to be “fixed later" or "get better later" to justify your purchase is not normal. A multi-billion dollar company offering you the absolute bare minimum and outsourcing to a company that is completely inexperienced with back-to-back game development that are then made to work under a strict deadline should not be accepted as normal. Please just play Platinum-for a game that's over a decade old it offers you everything that BDSP can and even more. You can also play the following games in the monster collecting genre: Shin Megami Tensei V (Switch) (Releases this Friday, in fact!) Monster Hunter Stories 2 (Switch, PC) (an incredible spinoff based on the Monster Hunter franchise; it's everything you've ever wished Pokemon could be and more) Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Complete Edition (Switch, PSVita, PC) (flawed, owing to a low budget and lack of broad worldwide appeal, but is solid from a gameplay perspective and doesn't make compromises) Fossil Fighters (DS) (very charming and underrated game featuring dinosaurs that you can emulate right now!) Again, you do not need to buy and play the latest Pokemon game. You do not need to give Nintendo/The Pokemon Company your money. It's far better spent elsewhere, and these multi-billion dollar companies can and should do better. You as the consumer deserve better. Please play anything else. This is also the reason the Battle Frontier was not present; i.e. people now would not have appreciated it and would just become bored or frustrated because of the difficulty. Essentially, some players aren't engaged by extended content, therefor there is no extended content to keep players engaged. Not the philosophy you want to have about your product, and it's a convenient excuse to spend less so you can charge more.
