Just so this is said enough, if you rewatch the revelation scene in episode 04 of RWBY V6, somthing very important changes People say Ozpin cowardly ran away from Team RWBY, but that is not what happened. When Ozpin comes clean about not having a plan to Team RWBY and admits to the Jin's vision details at being the truth...he looks beaten and defeated, but he looks like he's going to take his licks, and his berating from the girls, ashamed, but present. When Qrow unloads on him, Ozpin is in literal PIECES, and not because he was Delaware smashed into a tree, but the look on his face, the pain in his voice (Both their voices, cause their VA's are sensational). Qrow basically throws in Oz's face that he had always thought he was nothing, he was capable of nothing, his self esteme, was nothing. Nothing but cursed. Ozpin was the denominator that convinced him he could be part of something greater, that he could make a difference, that he was a good man. And now that he knows the truth, he's saying: "It was all a lie, you tricked me, you made me think I was more than garbage, that I mattered.." And Oz, in tears (again) is trying to plead with him to see that he is and he does. And seeing that defeat, and all that time to convince him that he was more than a bad luck charm, that he belonged, go down the drain because of him, is why Oz retreated into Oscar's mind beyond reach. That's what he couldn't bear.

He sent them into danger to fight an enemy they can't kill!" Wrong He never once sent them to fight Salem ent them to fight her very beatable, very killable, mini-bosses, minions, and grimm grunts, and to foil her schemes. A plan that has worked out for 1,000's of years. All in the name of preventing her from getting the artifacts which will literally herald the end of the world if she gets them together. Killing her isn't important, stopping her is His goal, and mission for his followers, wasn't destroy Salem, but keep her from winning like Sauron until a way to destroy the ring can be found, and that's all Ozpin has been doing (successful - ly if the still very exist ator) for if ing world isn't an indic a millenia not more. And if he and his council do nothing, Salem wins; end of the world. And as Weiss's reaction show-cased in ep05, finding out that Salem can't be killed makes too many people dismay and panic, which aside from attracting Grimm, has made some is followers lose heart, give into fear and in her because unlike him they don't have the passion to think humanity is worth fighting for, even in a stalemate or worth their own skins Oh i wonder why he'd want to avoid that? Oz made allot of mistakes, but he still why the world is in one piece to this day, and that's with people who he's loved on all sides lying to him, betraying him, and withholding from him, and he still loves them, and he still does it. Oh yeah, what a weak little weasel
