No More Heroes 2 is probably less controversal compared to TLOU2

I just realized that The Last of Us 2 is quite parallel to No More Heroes 2. The game sets up a big revenge story where a main character from the previous game wants revenge on someone for killing their loved one, who in turn killed said loved one due to the death of a minor character in the first game that they happened to be related to. The one that killed said loved one (Abby and Jasper Batt Jr.) are widely hated amongst video game fans. The game tries to preach vengeance is bad in awful and unfulfilling ways (Abby is let go and lives a relatively happy life despite her own atrocities, Jasper is an awful boss fight with an unsatisfying death sequence, which was intentional to push the 'revenge is bad' message.) 6 hours ago by

It's a survival TPS just like its predecessor, and to be honest, it's not that fun to play. The story, characters and worldview of the first game were the reason why the first one was so well received, and the game part was quite mediocre. And the story and characters in 2 are... One word: they are the worst. The protagonists of the previous game are portrayed and handled poorly to the point of them being out of character. And while half or more of the game's content involves controlling a new enemy character, this new character is extremely unpleasant in every way: How they look, what they say and do, and their role in the story. It's just torture when you're controlling them. I know they want to show that these are the circumstances of a new character, but they clearly fail to do so. There's no room for sympathy, and you just want them to die the whole time they make you play as them. They trampled on the previous game to produce an overused and clichéd message and theme. If only the story was excellent/compelling, the treatment of the previous characters could have been acceptable. But what you actually get is this badly-written ending as a culmination of characters acting clearly out of character. And this is all for the sake of a clichéd plot that looks like it is from an amateur film. The whole game comes across as self-indulgent m-----------. How did this happen? In addition, the portrayal of the LGBT element is terrible. Ellie's girlfriend eventually turns out to be that way, and the portrayal of transgender people on the enemy's side clearly doesn't look like a progressive. If anything, it looks more like a transgender version of blacksploitation. And yet, the creators and others involved claim that the game is being unfairly attacked by bigots because it has LGBT in it. It's clear that they completely see LGBTS as nothing more than a shield against criticism, and this lowly act is repulsive.
