There was a crowd of people behind me, so as he hands over the pills he apologized, in equal tone and volume as when he called my deadname and lied saying it's been a long day and he didn't mean to call out his own- name. I quietly told him it was fine and he didn't need to do that for my sake. His response: "No, it's my name now." I went to the pharmacist yesterday, his nametag is my deadname. He informed me he's immigrating and in the process he's changed his first name to my deadname to have an English sounding name. That's why he's now able to get a reprint of his nametag to be my deadname. And repeated, with the intense seriousness of someone who is going to die on this hill: "It's mine now. Not yours. I'm taking." His tone indicated that decision is final. Bro literally deadnamed me once, and has committed to flat out stealing my deadname. It's his now. Legally. Officially. I over heard his co- workers call him by the name.

Yesterday, I went to a concert by myself and the DJ played "When Love Takes Over" by Kelly Rowland. I danced harder than I ever have. People came to dance with me, they gave me flowers, and they all clapped for me when the song finished. I don't know how to explain it, but I really feel like that song and moment saved my life. He said "Wanna join our BLM movement to stir up more " I took off my sunglasses and glazed hard at him and showed him my belt buckle. He screamed like a little girl and ran off! He knew an a kicking beat down was next for him. DON' SAD

I feel this is not true

2m ago I mean, you literally have to break local laws to do so, in a country that is extremely authoritarian. A girl I knew was in China for an internship, and while on a train her camera was stolen. She told one of the staff and they had the train stop and local police came to search the passengers for the camera. They found it in the luggage of this guy, who was then pulled out of the train and they executed him right there. Shot him right in the head. She was traumatized and left the country as soon as she could. And yeah, this happened like 15 years ago, but this is the type of country you're advocating for. This kind of stuff still happens, just a little more behind closed doors than it used to. Foreigners may not be as affected, but punishments can still be very harsh. As amazing a country China is to visit, it's not the best place to live if you're bound to break local laws in order to make a living. 1 Reply Award Share

The teacher can't threaten to fail me if i've said something so outrageous he loses the power of speech and has to pace while turning red. so we were learning how to read a micrometer. he had one in the front of the room, but we didn't have our own in front of us yet. he had a diagram up on the screen, but i wasn't getting much out of it. so i said something. Me: "Sir, I can't see s and I'm not getting much out of this. You know what you need? an overhead projector, so we can watch while you talk us through this, like those cooking videos where all you see is the kitchen island and the hands. (other students nod enthusiastically). Instructor: "Oh, that's a great idea. I'll bring it up with the other instructor to purchase. In the meantime, I can take a video at home tonight, and load it to the portal for you guys if that would help.". Other students: chorus of agreement Me: "So... is that gonna be on the free side, or the PAID side of your O s?" room: commenced to howling after an appropriate interval of stunned silence.
