Feel free to add or remove anything you want. However, for it to be considered 'Nuzlocke Mode' you must at least release any pokemon that faints and catch the first and only pokemon in an area. If all your party pokemon faint you will have to start over unless you have backup pokemon stored in your PC box. Area is just that. An entire cave is one area, a route is one area and a town is one area. Connected routes count as their own areas. Fossil pokemon dont necessarily count as a pokemon from an area in which you Tound the fossil, but rather they will count as the first pokemon in area in the town theyre revived in. Grass and water on one route do not count as two areas If you accidently kll the first pokemon you encounter in an area or you run out of pokeballs, youre out of luck. You don't get a second chance. Be more careful next time. If you're using the "catch the first pokemon that isn't a duplicate rule, you're alowed to ignore the "catch the first pokemon in an area" rule if you aready have it. For example, if you already have a Zigzagoon but you encounter another Zigzagoon on a new route, you can kill it and test your luck again. If a duplicate pops up more than once, you're allowed to ㎘l t again. The rule is there to promote team diversity Legendaries only count as the first pokemon in an area if you haven't faced any pokemon travelling within their home cave. Better stock up on repels. Under the "No healing via pokemon center" rule, you won't be allowed to deposit a pokemon in the box unkess they have full PP, HP and no status ailments. You also won't be able to the use the daycare because it restores PP

If you're not one for long sappy stories, gtfo I dedicate this to Squirmy I started off Ruby with a little Torchic, because Ive always loved Blaziken. The first pokemon I was ever able to catch was a Wurmple Great", I thought to myself, "A wurmple. Who the f--- cares" I named him Squirmy I leveled him up just for the hell of it, getting p----- at the fact that he couldn't even take 3 tackles without almost dying. Then came the Rustboro Gym. I had my Combusken, and I thought all was going to be just fine Squirmy had just evolved into a Beautifly before this gym, but I thought nothing of it, swearing I'd throw him in a box when I got the chance Anonymous 08/05/10 u)01:36 No.873938 go on… Anonymous 08/05/10(Thu)01:37 No. 873958 Suddenly, as all was going well, Nosepass scored a critical hit on my Combusken, killing him. All I had left was this p------------ bug I almost quit, but I decided l'd absorb once to try to kill Nosepass That move crited, and Nosepass died He came out of f------ nowhere and avenged my starter with the style and grace that would make a troll cry Squirmy and I became best bros from that day on, and nothing could stop us. He was the leader of my team, always a good 10, even 15 levels ahead sometimes. I even EV trained the little f----- just to make him truly top percentage Multiple times did he jump in to ensure a pokemon wouldn't die, or to avenge a fallen friend. He was always courageous, and seemed to always pull out a critical hit when needed I took out gyms with him, I even swept some (the psychic and Water gyms) with him. Not because it was fast, or easy, but because he was my friend I had plans to transfer al my survivors to my Heart Gold when I finished, so I was looking forward to that Then comes the Elite Four 厂Anonymous 08/05/10(Thu)01:38 No 873994 They weren't necessarily a problem, although I did lose a soon-to-be Salamence in the process (RIP Hardhead). Before anyone goes yelling at me about cheating, I was going by the each floor is a different area rule. I just agreed that if I lost my team, I lost the game. All that was left was Cradily, but Camerupt was paralyzed, I was out of healing agents (status-wise), and I knew he wouldn't survive a possible hit from Cradily I had kept Squirmy out of the battle for a while, knowing he didn't need to come out for this battle But I had to He had to Anonymous 08/05/10(Thu)01:39 No. 874005 I pull him out and the two start duking it out. Suprisingly, Giga drain did a lot of damage to Cradily, but toxic was hurting Squirmy. I kept healing him, but the toxins kept steadily increasing. I couldn't switch out, knowing if I healed camerupt while fighting, I would surely be killed or critical hit and Squirmy would die But then something happened. Squirmy ran out of attacks. He had fought this whole time in the E4, and I had not even thought about his PP until en His health was low. He couldn't take another hit. The toxic was at the point to where it was taking away more than 3/4 of his health And Cradily was getting p----- off. Steven stopped using full restores a while back. No Giga Drain to heal him, and no full restores to set him free, and switching not being an option, Squirmy knew what had to be done Anonymous 08/05/10(Thu)01:43 No.874085 With one final blow, he struggled with all his might and killed the Cradily in a fearsome blow I watched his health drop I remember thinking it would stop at 2. Maybe 1. I remembered catching him. I remembered him saving lives, kicking ass, and even killing the infernal Groudon. I remembered him winning contests, showing off his beauty. I remember how happy he made me. I remembered how happy I made him. And I remembered telling him we would make it out together. This is all that was heard, because upon this I had to turn off the sound I survived the Elite Four with my paralyzed Camerupt with around 15 health left As he was inducted to the Hall of Fame as a memory, I couldn't help but look at his lifeless corpse in my arms. I wondered How? How can he be so happy after all that happened to him! I promised! I promised. And he died. We were so close, and his life fell right before my eyes, because of me I loaded my game one more time, and looked upon him once more, and told him to take care, wherever he would be I slowly released his soul, along with his other friends, into the great ocean of the pokemon afterlife l put down my gameboy, I smiled, and I promised myself that I would never again do another Nuzlocke challenge. I didn't know if it was the game's way of not letting you get stuck without an HM or what, but it said "Squirmy came back. I looked into my friend's eyes and he looked into mine, and I thought all was well But then he said to me "Old friend, you know the rules.. And that I did. We had always played by them, anyways So I bred him, hatched his egg, transferred it to Heart Gold, and I erased my game, bidding farewell to my longtime friend. This way, his spirit lives on And anyone who detests this can get over it, because we accomplished the nuzlocke challenge, and he came back. Squirmy lives on in SquirmyJR and none of us will ever forget his sacrifice The interesting thing is, I have researched like crazy, and Squirmy had no HMs on him, and there is no way I see that the game would ever make it say Squirmy came back" when all the others were released so easily To this moment I still do not know why Squirmy came back. And I'm okay with that
