iFunny User And Redditor Who Posted Memes Alluding To Killing Joe Biden Now Facing Additional Charges For Potential Plot To Assassinate The Former VP
Back in late May, 19-year-old Alexander Hillel Treisman was arrested in North Carolina after tellers at a local bank reported an abandoned van in an adjacent parking lot, which was filled with numerous guns, ammo, explosives, $500,000 in cash (his inheritance), books about survival and bomb-making, drawings of swastikas and planes crashing into buildings. According to newly released court records over the weekend, it is now alleged that Treisman was also potentially planning to assassinate presidential candidate and former VP Joe Biden.
Earlier in May before his arrest, records showed that Treisman traveled to Delaware within four miles of Biden’s home after purchasing an AR-15 rifle in New Hampshire prior. A checklist written by Treisman that was recovered by police also contained the word “execute,” among other troubling items uncovered by investigators.
Posting memes on both Reddit and iFunny under the username AlextheBodacious, as well as several other disturbing posts referencing violence against people or animals, Treisman’s online history reveals a post to iFunny on April 15th from this year featuring a Rage Comics character with the caption, “should I kill joe biden?”
“A timeline of internet searches conducted by Defendant between March and May 2020 seeking information about Joe Biden’s home address, state gun laws, rifle parts and night vision goggles, along with actions taken by Defendant, including posting the above-mentioned meme about killing Joe Biden, purchasing an AR-15 in New Hampshire, traveling to a Wendy’s within 4 miles of Joe Biden’s home, and writing a checklist note ending with ‘execute,’” the court order stated.
In late September, Treisman was indicted in federal court on charges of possessing and transmitting child pornography. Searches conducted on his cellphone and 15 other electronic devices seized from his vehicle at the time of arrest turned up thousands of child pornography photos, more than 1,200 videos, as well as a note written in October 2019 that described “a plan to perform a mass shooting at a mall food court on Christmas or Black Friday.” Additionally, one of the posts to his Reddit account in April 2020 stated he “was going to do a columbine for a while, I think it would be better to put it towards something more memorable,” according to the court documents.
Treisman’s accounts on both Reddit and iFunny have since been suspended or banned, but users on each have begun digging through his history on their own, discussing his behavior or creating memes referencing his username.
Some of these searches for Treisman’s post history showed him making references to pedophilia, executing those he hates and a desire to perform mass shootings, including a Reddit post to the /r/confession subreddit titled “I kick dogs” where he said “I don't give a shit, and I'm not sorry that I do it. But that's not to say it feels good. When they shake after a good beating it sorta hurts my soul.”
Other findings revealed in the court documents included a video taken from his cellphone in April that showed him driving by the site of the 2017 Las Vegas Shooting and praising the massacre. “That’s the one, that’s where they did it … nice,” he said. An interview with a Joint Terrorism Task Forces official also stated that Treisman acknowledged having an interest in terrorist incidents and mass shooting, consuming YouTube videos and Wikipedia entries about various tragedies.
Earlier this month. Treisman pleaded not guilty to the three counts of child pornography, and according to court documents, his attorney noted he has been diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome. While Treisman did not have any prior criminal history, the teen is being held without bail, and the court concluded that “the record establishes by clear and convincing evidence that no combination of available release conditions would reasonably assure the safety of the community.”
