Internet Mourns As Jason David Frank, The Green Power Ranger, Passes Away Over The Weekend

Over the weekend, it was confirmed that Jason David Frank had passed away, impacting thousands online and leading to several different communities mourning the tragic loss. Jason David Frank, most known for being the Green Ranger in the original Power Rangers before turning into the White Ranger and several others as the continuity of the show continued on.

Originally reported by fan sites, the death was initially considered a hoax until people closer to Frank were able to confirm the worst, leading to the outpouring of messages flooding social media.


A quick time after his death was confirmed, it began to circulate that it was purportedly a suicide, leading to the cosplay, TV, voice acting, Power Ranger and mental health communities, among others, to post about how important it is to reach out to others and seek help when it is needed.

This also led to thousands posting about their favorite moments with meeting Jason David Frank at conventions or out in the world because he always made himself very accessible to fans and would go to many conventions and meet with people and fans.


As fans began to post their favorite moments from the show featuring him, there was special attention paid to the upcoming movie production that he was a part of, Legend of the White Dragon, which had its teaser trailer released earlier in the year and is an original property with a darker tone than Power Rangers while still playing into the tropes and similarities the franchise is known for.
