The Ever Given, the big boat that had been stuck in the Suez Canal for six days, halting 10% of the world's trade and providing one of the most memeable stories of the young year, is finally free.

The ship was freed thanks in part to the work of rescue teams in tug boats (and one very dedicated excavator). However, rescuers were eventually helped out by mother nature: last night's full moon brought high tides, allowing the rescue workers to finally finish the job.

The ship (named the Ever Given and not "Evergreen," as Evergreen is the operating company of the ship) was freed at about 3 P.M. CAT (Central African Time) today, according to The New York Times.

Though the giant boat—the Ever Given is larger than the Empire State Building—being stuck was undoubtedly a crisis, it was also extremely funny, providing days of memes to people who had no stake in global shipping drama. Immediately after news of the Ever Given's freedom hit the internet, the phrase "PUT IT BACK" started trending on Twitter.

So long, Ever Given. May you never appear in headlines around the globe again.
