UK Man Discovers Haunted Doll In His Walls, Ignores Friends Begging Him To Leave
UK resident Jonathan Lewis experienced every new homeowners worst nightmare when he discovered a spooky doll nested in his walls. The doll came with a note saying its name was "Emily" and that she had been trapped there since 1961.
"My original owners lived in this house in 1961," said Emily. "I didn’t like them so they had to go. All they did was sing and be merry. It was sickening. Stabbing was my choice of death for them so I hope you have knives."
Whereas most people would take this as a sign to sell or burn the new house and leave the UK as fast as possible, Lewis is taking a nonchalant stance to the threat. He told the Liverpool Echo, "Some of my friends have told me to put my house back on the market and move out but I think it's just a laugh. The letter says 1961 but the estate agent said when she was showing me around that the kitchen was only done four or five years ago. I think it must have been put there then because the paper doesn't look very old and looks relatively recent."
Most commenters to the Echo agreed that Emily and her doll didn't look authentically haunted enough to pose a threat. "The paper is crisp as if it was written yesterday. Just the previous owners playing a prank," wrote one. "Definitely child's writing. Some kid watching too many horror films!" said another.
Of course, only time will tell if Emily is indeed a haunted doll who will follow through with her threat to stab Lewis in his sleep (which, granted, is unlikely), but one wonders how sure you'd have to be that the creepy doll in your walls wasn't haunted to be okay with ignoring its warning.
