Ian McEwan, the award-winning author of more than 20 novels and short stories, including Atonement, delivered Dickinson's Commencement address on Sunday, May 17. McEwan received a doctor of letters honorary degree. He has been shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize for Fiction numerous times, winning the award for Amsterdam in 1998.
