Based on the 1967 Osamu Tezuka manga about a street urchin and a crippled swordsman set during the Japanese civil war, this new anime adaptation is being handled by MAPPA studio, best known for their work on "Hajime no Ippo: Rising" , Yuri on Ice, Inuyashiki, and Banana Fish.
This marks the second adaptation of the classic manga, the first one airing in 1969
