NYPD Helicopter 23 was deployed for rooftop rescues on Staten Island Tuesday, October 30, 2012. Aviation and SCUBA members rescued five adults and one child (see approx 8:15) who were trapped in their houses due to rising waters. The helicopter is named for the 23 New York City Police Officers who were killed on 9/11.
