On May 3, 2007, a home movie clip of drunk David Hosselhoff eating a cheeseburger surfaced on YouTube. It was taken by his daughter Taylor Ann, who’s also featured in the video as she tries to make her father quit drinking before the upcoming Las Vegas show “The Producers.”

Mr. Hasselhoff’s particularly ungraceful memento was welcomed by internet communities, spawning quite a few response videos and parodies on YouTube. Following the initial tabloid/media coverage, David issued a statement saying his daughter filmed him because she wanted to show him how he acted when he was drunk. Possessing memetic essences like celebrities, alcohol and cheeseburgers, Drunk David Hasselhoff was a short-lived internet phenomenon that somehow reaffirmed his “somewhat relevant” status in today’s celebrity gossip scene.
