Vince Shlomi, aka Vince Offer, aka the ShamWow Guy, is an actor, owner, and comedian best known for his paid commercial pitches of the ShamWow and SlapChop products.

ShamWow

The ShamWow, a German-made shammy cloth, was the first notable product pitched by Vince. The aggressive tone, fast-talking pitches, impressive demonstrations, and youthful charm was spurred immediate recognition by the public. Vince’s presentation and likeability quickly brought him into the same limelight as Billy Mays, another well-known television pitchman.

Slap Chop

Vince’s second product, a hand-pressed food chopper named the Slap Chop, was another viral success. The Slap Chop made huge gains in public recognition for its double entendres and aggressive marketing phrases. Some of these include:

  • “You’re going to love my nuts.”
  • “If I can do this with one finger, you guys can do it with your whole hand.”
  • “We’re going to make America skinny again, one slap at a time.”

Arrested for Felony Battery

Vince was arrested on February 7, 2009 for felony battery on prostitute Sasha Harris. He claims he struck Sasha Harris after she would not let go after biting his tongue, in which no formal charges were ever filed.

Scientology

Vince, a former Scientologist, was involved in what he called a “hit”, in which the church used persuasive measures to deter other members from befriending and working with him after he left the church.

Let me just get it down quickly. When the original commercial came out, players were quick to notice the resemblance between Vince and the Scout. Appearance, voice, and even the headset. Parodies everywhere.

Eventually, Valve Software, the publishers of Team Fortress 2 got in on this by recording and adding in Vince-inspired taunt lines for the Scout in one of the game’s updates.
