For one, the image itself was immaculate in quality and resolution. One of the things was parallax. You know the parallax effect? It's something you'd expect in motion. But it was very dizzying picture composition, like it was being manipulated, even though the whole desert background and the plant looked real (and I couldn't even clarify what typ of plant, honestly, it feels so vague). It happened quickly. The thread wasn't exactly popular at the time, so I wonder if anybody really saved it. I doubt anyone who made the fakes saw it, either. I don't think they'd feel lightly about it, they just went off descriptions. For one, the whole "reptile skin" isn't quite right. That's just the closest thing, I guess. It did not literally look like that. It just had this almost plasticine quality on the surface, but a very fleshy undertone. You know trypophobia? That feeling you get when you see images like that, especially with human flesh? It instilled that feeling. Though I can't remember if it looked like it. The "creature" looked closer to a traditional grey in a lot of ways. The weirdest part was the eyes. They had a ludicrous depth to it. Almost like you were looking at a dark, dark hole that went to an infinitesimally small point. That feeling of looking into a really deep hole, or at an edge, is how I'd describe it. The shock is a lot like opening an innocuous spoiler image, and seeing that one photo of the dead girl from the highway crash, the famous one. Where you can just see the depth of gore where her face was.
