Overview

The August 2024 Chase Bank ATM Glitch refers to a rumor spread on X / Twitter and TikTok in late August 2024 about a supposed money glitch at Chase Bank ATMs that allowed people to deposit a large check and have funds available for withdrawal immediately. The unverified rumor caused large amounts of people to gather at ATMs owned by Chase Bank to verify the money glitch claims, which sparked viral videos, memes and jokes on social media as it spread online. Chase Bank reportedly quickly fixed the bug and has since alerted people not to indulge in the check fraud scam.
